Destruction of pathogenic germs through the use of chemical or physical means
Disinfection is a circumscribed procedure for pathogenic species, able to reduce (through killing, inactivation or removal) the quantity of microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, spores and protozoa, in order to better control and avoid the risk of infections for man or of contamination of objects and environments.
Generally it is carried out through chemical products, disinfectant detergents in fact, capable of developing a strong biocidal action against bacteria, fungi, viruses etc.
These products also have a detergent and deodorizing action, eliminating unpleasant odors due to bacterial decomposition and giving a pleasant scent to the treated areas.
